Current legal regulations of the United Arab Emirates in migration law.
From August 1, 2018, the government of the United Arab Emirates granted a three-month visa amnesty for foreigners violating the right of residence.
All overstayers can legally settle their visa status or leave the country without paying overstay penalties.
For those wishing to leave the UAE or amnesty seekers, an Exit Permit or Emergency Certificate (if they do not have a passport) must be obtained. Such persons must book a flight within 10 days of submitting the application.
Those wishing to stay in the UAE can legalize their status if they have a job offer or start applying for a six-month temporary visa to look for a new job. Additionally, absconders can get an absconding case closed for a nominal fee.
